As the heating supply to residential districts in Ulaanbaatar is scheduled to be shut off from May 15, work on the district heating network will begin at the same time, a relevant official said.
This summer, repairs on the main district heating network are planned to be carried out in 8–9 phases, covering all major pipelines along 16 main routes out of the 376-kilometer central transmission system, from May 15 to August 25. The schedule has been approved.
Specifically, during the first phase, from May 18 to 28, the hot water supply for residents in Khan-Uul District, Viva City, New Yarmag, the district general hospital area, the vicinity of the NDEP (Hangard) building of the City Governor’s Office, the Central Stadium, Hunnu, Rapid Town, 120 Myangat, the Tuul River banks, Zaisan-area residential complexes and neighborhoods, and the area around 19th Khoroolol will be restricted for 10 days while heating pipelines are repaired.
During this period, the network is scheduled to undergo renovation, repair, and expansion work. The duration of the repair and modernization work will be 10 to 20 days.
