Work to clean and service public spaces in the capital city, repair and improve sidewalks, maintain green areas, wash outdoor surroundings, and bring signage and address structures into compliance with standards has begun in phases, along with efforts to address identified violations.

Regarding the progress of the work, N. Otgonbayar, Director of the Administration and Financial Management Department of the Ulaanbaatar City Administration, said: “A commission tasked with overseeing the implementation of urban development and public service projects funded by national, city, and district investments across nine districts is currently operating in the districts.

During inspections, common violations related to the maintenance of green spaces have been identified, and these are being resolved on site together with the relevant officials. Efforts are also focused on eliminating violations such as vehicles being parked on sidewalks, in order to ensure safe movement for residents.

Violations such as discarding cigarette butts in green spaces and parking cars on sidewalks are common. Therefore, we urge every citizen to act responsibly and take an active part in the development of their district,” he said.
