At the outset of the meeting, Prime Minister G. Zandanshatar expressed appreciation for the New Year’s greetings conveyed by M. V. Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, and asked that his return greetings be conveyed in response.

Prime Minister G. Zandanshatar noted that Mongolia–Russia relations and cooperation were actively developed in 2025, with successful high- and top-level visits and events held between the two sides. He emphasized the importance of both parties paying special attention to turning the agreed matters into practical outcomes going forward. He also exchanged views with the Ambassador on several major events planned for implementation in 2026.

Prime Minister G. Zandanshatar expressed gratitude that both the Mongolian and Russian sides have ratified the Interim Trade Agreement between Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Union, and voiced his expectation that the remaining member states of the Eurasian Economic Union would ratify the agreement in the near future. He stated his confidence that the successful implementation of the interim trade agreement would not only invigorate trade and economic cooperation but also provide an important boost to people-to-people exchanges.

He further expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached during the meeting of the Mongolia–Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, held in Ulaanbaatar in late December 2025. These agreements covered a wide range of cooperation, including increasing the supply of petroleum products to Mongolia and ensuring their reliable and stable delivery in the future, as well as continuing to supply electricity to Mongolia’s western regions.

Ambassador A. N. Evsikov expressed his commitment to working actively on implementing the agreements reached during high- and top-level meetings. He also informed that, in connection with the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia in 2026, the two sides plan to jointly organize numerous cultural, sports, and humanitarian events.
