A working group led by B. Davaatsereen, head of the Cultural Heritage Division of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth (MCSTY), carried out an official business trip to Paris, France, from April 14 to 17 this year.

During the visit, the team conducted a detailed condition assessment of dinosaur fossils illegally taken out of Mongolia and documented their registration and descriptions.

They also met with officials at the Embassy of Mongolia in France to discuss the legal framework and organizational arrangements for receiving and transporting the fossils.

At the same time, the team met with representatives of Grospiron, a company specializing in the transport of international cultural heritage, and prepared a logistics plan to safely bring the valuable fossils back to their homeland.

This effort reflects Mongolia’s firm commitment to protecting its cultural heritage and combating illegal trade.
