Democratic Party Caucus to Discuss Constitutional Court Ruling and Presidential Veto on Monday

The Democratic Party (DP) caucus in Mongolia’s Parliament will convene on Monday to discuss the recent Constitutional Court ruling and the President’s veto, according to caucus leader O. Tsogtgerel.

Speaking to reporters, Tsogtgerel said the Parliament’s ability to hold regular sessions has become increasingly uncertain amid ongoing political and procedural disputes.

“Parliament’s operations are now in a state of paralysis. Issues related to attendance, the Constitutional Court’s conclusions, and overall political management have created confusion,” he said.

He added that while the Constitutional Court’s decisions cannot be overturned, discussions will continue within the Speaker’s Council regarding the parliamentary schedule and procedures.

“Lawmakers must also reconsider the rule stating that a member who registers attendance but does not vote will be counted as having rejected the motion,” Tsogtgerel noted.

The Democratic Party caucus plans to review both the Constitutional Court’s ruling and the President’s veto during its upcoming Monday session.
