In May 2024, engineering and geological survey drilling commenced along Enkhtaivan Avenue, marking a crucial step toward the city’s first metro system. This phase involves drilling at 40 designated points to assess geological conditions, essential for the project’s feasibility and design.
On January 12, 2025, Mayor Kh. Nyambaatar announced that the British Government has decided to provide a guarantee for the Ulaanbaatar Metro Project. This support is expected to enhance the project’s financial stability and attract further investment. Mayor Nyambaatar also noted that public opinion is favorable toward the metro’s implementation, and administrative processes are on track to meet scheduled timelines.
