From November 25 to December 1, 2024, Mongolia’s Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) handled a significant volume of cases and actions as part of its ongoing efforts to combat corruption. The Investigation Department of the ACA reviewed 71 criminal complaints and reports during this period.
Case Reviews and Outcomes
- 11 cases were forwarded to the prosecutor with recommendations to open formal investigations.
- 10 cases were proposed for rejection, while 50 cases remain under review.
In addition, the agency is currently investigating 874 criminal cases. Over the past week:
- 16 cases were forwarded to the prosecutor for court transfer.
- 18 cases were closed.
- 3 cases were referred for transfer based on jurisdiction.
- 3 cases are being investigated collaboratively.
Crime Prevention Measures
The ACA issued three detective statements to relevant authorities, addressing the conditions and factors contributing to criminal activity and proposing measures to mitigate future offenses.
Search Operations
As part of their investigations, ACA operatives conducted searches at 10 different locations, reflecting the agency’s active pursuit of evidence in ongoing cases.
These efforts underscore the ACA’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and addressing corruption within Mongolia. The agency continues to process a high volume of cases, demonstrating its pivotal role in maintaining integrity across sectors.
