Mongolia will observe its Declaration of Independence Day on November 26, 2024, as a public holiday. In line with this, several border checkpoints will temporarily cease operations for the day. These include the following crossings:

  • Gashuunsukhait
  • Khangi
  • Bichigt
  • Artssuuri
  • Khankh
  • Tsagaannuur
  • Khawirga
  • Shiveekhuren

However, major transportation hubs like Chinggis Khaan International Airport and railway crossings at Ereentsav, Altanbulag, and Zamyn-Uud will continue to operate as per their regular schedules

This public holiday commemorates the proclamation of the Mongolian People’s Republic on November 26, 1924, and has been a significant day of national reflection since its formal recognition in 2016
